POOL VENUES

We use the swimming pools at Harrogate High School, Belmont Grosvenor School and Leeds Grammar School. Outside of the council they provide some of the few teaching pools in the area. 

All too often now people are using private health clubs which usually have only one depth of approximately 1.2 metres deep.  This is suitable for adults for fitness swimming, but is not suitable to provide enough variation in depth to give a child every opportunity to learn how to swim.  Private health clubs usually allow other members to share the pool space whilst lessons are in progress.  This creates too many distractions for a child to be able to concentrate.

A teaching pool provides a concentrated learning environment, which allows children to develop water confidence within shallow water and then when ready move through to deep water.  This provides them with the opportunity to become confident in deep water, not only from swimming, but also through water skills, jumping and diving.
