Practicalities

Important Information For Parents

• Children must be aged 4 or above

 

• Please inform staff of any health problems such as asthma and diabetes at the time of enrolment or as and when they arise.  Any medication required during the lesson should be made available on the poolside

 

• Ensure your child is wearing the correct swim wear.  Baggy Surf Shorts or Skirted Swimming Costumes could hinder your child's performance. We strongly recommend the use of proper swim shorts and swimming costumes

 

• We strongly recommend the use of goggles

 

• Pupils (male and female) must wear a swimming cap, which will be provided by Swim2u.

 

• Please remove items of jewellery, watches, etc

 

• Ensure your child uses the toilet before the lesson and shower before entering the pool.

 

• Please do not eat or drink on the poolside.

 

• It is recommended that your child should not eat substantial meals of any kind less than 2 hours prior to swimming.

 

• Only accompanied children under age 8 are allowed to change in the opposite gender dressing room.  Changing in the spectator area or on the poolside is not allowed.

 

• All swimming aids which are necessary will be provided by the swimming instructor.

 

• Parents should not assist the instructor in the teaching of the lesson in any way.

 

• In the interest of hygiene please ensure that outdoor footwear is not worn on the poolside.

 

• Pupils should be available on the poolside no earlier than 5 minutes before the start of the lesson.

 

• Parents/Guardians must remain on the premises whilst their child is in lessons.

 

• To prevent your child becoming anxious or distressed, please make sure that your child is changed and ready for the lesson in good time and stays until the lesson has finished.

 

• Children must not enter the water until instructed to do so and must leave once their lesson has finished.

 

• Swim2u requires the parent/guardians latest contact addresses and telephone numbers.

 

• Please ensure that the rules and regulations of Henshaws College, Belmont Grosvenor School and Harrogate Ladies College swimming pools are adhered to (as shown by poolside signs).

 

• Please check with Swim2u prior to using any type of camera.
